[Trans] The reason for SM’s all-out attack on JYJ
The reason for SM’s all-out attack on JYJ is in essence due to it being gripped by a sense of crisis.
Watching the way SM’s contracted singers are coming out one by one to bash JYJ has only confirmed for me that [SM] is feeling cornered.
First of all, SM has been shaken by the success of JYJ’s solo activities in musicals and dramas after the filing of the lawsuit.
Secondly, through the showcases in Asia and 3 American cities held in the latter half of last year as well as the Seoul concert of November 27-28, SM was able to confirm JYJ’s hidden potential and star quality, and this has put them into a greater sense of crisis.
Thirdly, it is impossible to ignore the influence of JYJ’s growing fandom, which, in increasing the group’s selling power, threatens to interfere with SM’s market share and profits.
Fourthly, and this is perhaps the most fundamental of all the reasons, [SM’s] moral standing and justification is crumbling. After the decision of the Fair Trade Commission, SM doesn’t see any possibility of winning the court case. Like this, because they have lost their moral standing, their image will be tarnished and they face losing not only money but also their position in the market; hence the continuous and unending attacks [on JYJ].
Their strategic response stands on a single logic, that of ungratefulness and betrayal [on the part of JYJ], because this is the best that SM, which claims to be a company like a family, can come up with. But this is not logic but a ploy to stir people’s emotions and divert attention away from questions of human and labour rights by getting JYJ labelled as depraved and immoral. It appears that SM is determined to fight back with every dirty trick they know, knowing full well that they too will be splotched with dung at the end of it.
It looks like that’s how frightened [SM] is of JYJ and their fandom. While it is true that so far [SM] is pushing its contracted singers that can sway the public mood to the foreground and in the background mobilising the resources of the KFPCAI, TV stations and other organisations, it could reach a point where the managers of SM get directly involved…
However, what is the real face of it all?
Anyone who’s had even a modicum of experience in society or the workplace knows that ‘the logic of the company as family’ is nothing more than a smokescreen logic to suppress and exploit workers. Naturally, there are admirable businessmen who do all they can to create a family-like atmosphere in their companies. Yet, there isn’t a single worker who can’t tell the difference between a genuine family-like company and a fake one.
This fight, eventually JYJ will win.
Because they have moral legitimacy, courage and dreams, as well as a fandom that believes and supports them. Loving someone is no different from protecting that person, as the saying goes. What it means for us to protect the courageous and still dreaming JYJ is for us all to cheer them on and give them our full, most enthusiastic support. I too am planning to cheer them on and give them strength with all that I have. It’s true this could be a long-term commitment in a long fight. So, everyone, let’s go strong!

A Word of Encouragement to the International DBSK Fandom
“The compass needle that wavers is never wrong.” (Sungkyunkwan Scandal/Islamic proverb)
By now everyone and their nanny has read some version of the AkaDong fan café’s public announcement and has heard that three other Korean fan cafés have made the same decision.
According to the AkaDong public announcement, the majority of Korean fan clubs went through an identity crisis around the time SM announced that Jung Yunho and Shim Changmin would be making a comeback carrying the name Dong Bang Shin Ki. That crisis has been largely resolved. What we are witnessing right now in Korea—the online bashing, the hacking of pro-JYJ fan sites, the irrational tantrum thrown by the DJ of MBC’s Radio Star—is simply the consequences of those decisions. The dust has settled, more or less. People are simply showing their true colours in the aftermath.
But, in announcing the resolution to that crisis, the unfortunate side effect has been to throw the international fanbase into the very identity crisis that was announced resolved. Of course, there are also many in the international fandom who had already reached their decision long before the announcements made by the Korean fan cafés. They too are now showing their true colours, sometimes rather ugly shades of it by intentionally spreading false or distorted information. The buffet of confirmation bias has officially opened and people are happily pigging out. This post is not interested in such gluttons.
This post is for the international fans that cherish memories of all five as Dong Bang Shin Ki, that can’t allocate more love for one member over another and vowed to support all five, that continue to believe against all odds that DBSK will stand as five again on the same stage. This piece of my mind and heart is for international fans who must be feeling overwhelming pressure right now in light of the decisions made by the Korean fandom to choose one side or the other, who are trying with all their might to refuse to even consider making such a decision or, if brought to the brink, can’t choose which side to go to. Although you may feel with each passing day pushed and pulled and prodded to go over to one side or the other, I cheer on your indecision.
It’s OK if you don’t think it’s right to pass judgment on Yunho and Changmin before hearing from their own mouths what they think in a setting free of SM’s influence. It’s OK to hang out on both JYJ and Homin blogs. It’s OK to feel conflicted about trending KYHD. And it’s OK to waver on the decision to buy the new TVXQ album or not. If all the hesitation, conflict and indecision are the result of a compassionate respect for each member of the original Dong Bang Shin Ki, then whatever decision you do end up making will be the right one.
Until the day he dies, Jaejoong’s flesh will testify, Accuse no man. JYJ have repeatedly stated in several interviews that they desire a reunion with the other two members, even if it means negotiating with SM. They themselves are finding it hard to let go entirely. So who has the right to belittle your inability to decide as a lack of intelligence or respect? In fact, I earnestly hope that one day history will show that you were the ones who were right all along.

[Recommendation] Fanfic : Already One Year
Title: Already One Year
Author: kashiji @farayas
Rating: PG-13
Pairing(s): None
Warning: There is swearing in this story.
Genre: General, Angst
Length: Oneshot
Summary: As everyone counted down to the end of Christmas day, five men counted down to a new beginning.
Author's note: Got the idea for this story from a friend's tweet (I hope you know who you are) and the latest interviews the boys have done. Please don't pay much attention to the tenses. I know they're a mess.
Disclaimer: If I owned DBSK, I wouldn't be alive to write this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
[Set to “Already One Year” by Brown Eyes]
“Earlier today, TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki got together on stage to hold a concert at the Hongkou Soccer Stadium in Shanghai, China. Despite the turmoil, rumors of breakup, and lawsuit with SM Entertainment, the boys got together and put on a great show for the more than 30,000 fans in attendance.
According to fan accounts, TVXQ’s leader Yunho said: “The five of us will never part!” Even though the concert was held in China, this lead the crowd to chant “믿어요! 동방신기 사랑해” which translates to “Believe! We Love Dong Bang Shin Ki.” Jaejoong, and Micky were both seen crying around this time as well. There’s also a report that all 5 cried together at the end.”
It’s been more than a year since that day in Shanghai and the banners that they had held up for the five of them were still vividly engrained into his memory. He remembers how all of them felt, how everything was just so bittersweet.
“Hyung, I’m going out for a while. Will you be okay?” Changmin says quietly from the mouth of his bedroom door, his appearance rather solemn.
“Go ahead. I’ll be fine, Changmin-ah…” Yunho replies curtly.
Yunho hears the front door open and shut as Changmin leaves into the night. He stares blankly at the computer screen, a weary expression marking his face. The dull glow of the screen flickers in the darkness as he gets lost in his own thoughts. How did he even think that it was possible? They haven’t talked to each other in almost a year now and yet, he promised the fans that they’d never part?
Such lies, they all were. The past year has been a mess to say the least. He had never been so free in his entire life. He thought he would love the rest but…this feeling, this situation… It was something totally different than anything he’d ever experienced. Ironically, he never guessed that he’d actually miss the hustle and bustle that used to accompany the festive season. For once, he’d basically spent Christmas at home instead of on a plane.
A lone Christmas tree sat in the corner of their living room with barely any presents under it. He forgot that presents used to be Jaejoong’s thing so this year neither he nor Changmin bothered with it all. What was the point of it anyway? Neither of them were truly happy with everything right now.
Yunho sighs as he looks at the clock as it strikes twelve. Raising his wine glass in a toast to no one in particular, he whispers…
“Hana, deul, seh… Dong Bang Shin Ki imnida. Happy anniversary. I miss you guys so much.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------
“Honesty is honestly
The hardest thing for me right now
While the floors underneath our feet
Are crumbling, the walls we built together tumbling
I still stand here holding up the roof
Cause it's easier than telling the truth”
Changmin smirks at the lyrics of the song on the radio. Honesty is always the best policy so what are they even thinking about in this song?
“But if that were true Changmin, then why do you never seem to be honest about your own feelings? Why are you here, driving alone in the middle of the night? Where are you going?” A quiet voice points out to him.
He hated his demons for being what they were. The inner Changmin was so annoying sometimes.
This past year, he had fully thrown himself into individual activities. Acting, modelling, dancing and English lessons filled up the hours in the day while 4 to 5 nights at the gym kept his mind preoccupied. He had become a hermit as he slowly but surely reduced his time with the outside world. It was something he knew his fans would surely miss. Heck, he even read their complaints as he randomly looked through fansites occasionally. He just couldn’t face them. This was his way to avoid having to lie to the people who loved him so dearly. Even in interviews for the Japanese magazines, he’d always made sure to answer cryptically so that probably some fans could get what he was trying to say without having to actually say it.
Changmin’s car expertly weaves through the streets of Seoul as he heads for that one spot at the Han River. One spot he knew was still secluded enough to be unknown to the sasaengs. He needed his thinking time again. Seeing Yunho so depressed before just made everything worse.
Once he arrives at his destination, Changmin parks the car and just sits in his seat, staring out into the black night. It was cold outside but his heart was colder. The silence was what he really needed to calm his nerves.
It was now 3am and for some reason, Radio 21 was blasting from his stereo. The lyrics of Chajatta filled the inner cavity of the car and it made him furious. He switches off the radio as he leaves his car, stomping over to the river bank. He takes a deep breath and shouts at the top of his lungs.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Fuck you guys for leaving us! Fuck you for making everything messed up. Fuck you for…just fuck. I fucking hate you!!”
White puffs of air leaves him as his heavy breath mingles with the cold winter night. He didn’t mean what he said…then again, maybe he did? He never swore but all the things that were crappy in his life right now were too much for him to handle. He hated not being in control, not knowing what was ahead. He was tired, even though he should be happy that he’d be on stage once again. But it wasn’t the same.
He returns to his car and opens a can of beer. Another thoughtful look graces his handsome features as he realizes that he still feels the same about his three hyungs.
“I still hate you. Happy anniversary.” He mutters as he downs his can of beer alone.
“Correction. You only hate them because you miss them like hell.”
Like he said before, inner Changmin is very annoying at times.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
“Jaejoong hyung… Your tree is so empty. Aside from the decorations, there’s pretty much nothing else. Where are the presents?” Junsu points out to the elder man.
Jaejoong shrugs at the question, as if it was nothing new. “Hmmm… Honestly, I didn’t know what to get. Besides, what’s the point? I live here alone, with Jiji. And that prince gets more presents than I do these days.”
“That is true. That’s why I told you to bring the food and leave Jiji behind.” Yoochun says cheekily.
“Do you have a death wish or something Yoochunnie?” The elder man’s glare bores into the side of Yoochun’s face as the younger one looks to Junsu for help.
“Don’t look at me.” Junsu puts his hands up defensively.
The room is suddenly quiet as each of them fall into silence. Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. JYJ. It just wasn’t the same.
“I miss Yunho and Changmin. I miss my servant.” Junsu thinks aloud, his hand absentmindedly swirling the glass of orange juice. “Orenji Junsu,” he adds quietly.
“Thanks for pointing that out, Captain Obvious. Without your superb observational skills, we would have never realised it…” Yoochun sends a dead-panned stare to Junsu’s way.
“You sound like that brat maknae.” Says Junsu as he scrunches his nose in distaste.
“Yah~ Play nice. We all miss them, don’t we? Yunho and the maknae. I wonder what they’re doing right now?” Jaejoong smiles bitterly.
“Probably out drinking with the staff, like we are.” Yoochun adds in simply.
“We could hardly be called as such, Yoochunnie.” Jaejoong interjected.
The apartment was empty apart from the four warm bodies that filled it, three humans and one prince. Christmas was quiet this year, unlike any of their previous ones. Out of all the paths they had chosen, this was definitely the hardest. But they had no time to regret it or even to look back. All they could do is to keep on moving forward into the unknown future. They truly believe that things will work out in the end.
“Assa! Let’s make a toast. To the future!” Yoochun holds up his glass of soju and motions to the other two.
“To our two friends that we love so much!” Jaejoong added in happily as he clinked his glass together.
“To Dong Bang Shin Ki! May we rule the world some day! Eu kyang kyang~” Junsu laughed heartily, spilling his juice in the process.
“I think we almost already do. At least to the fans we do.” Yoochun added matter-of-factly.
“Oh shut up, Yoochun. Happy anniversary!” Jaejoong and Junsu said simultaneously and with that they burst out laughing despite their sadness.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
4:30am
Five phones glowed in the dark night. Most were on vibrate so they wouldn’t see that message till the next morning. But it was something that they would need for the rest of their journey.
“Oppa fighting, we'll always wait for you…”

HoMin's New Album is released!

Changmin and Yunho had just released their new album
The songs in the album are AWESOME. What else can you expect from our beloved leader-ssi and maknae? To hear Changmin rap is something new but I love it~ Controversies blasted off when the lyrics were quite what we call as offending JYJ. But relax. We all knew that HoMin can't do anything regarding the lyrics as they are not the one who wrote it.
Keep your head down U-Know time (Max)
You know what time it is?
This is return of the king
...
(Everything has ended) I didn’t even start yet
(We broke up) I haven’t even heard the reason yet
Everyone around me keeps asking me why I’m like this
Why are you like that, why are you like that? I’m already the bad guy
(If it’s a sin) If loving you was a sin
(If that was a shin) If being genuine is a sin
(I’ll keep it low, I’ll keep it low) I’ll hold it in and stand my ground
(Keep your head down)
You look pretty, but inside you’re so different, that’s what I’m afraid of
(Keep your head down)
I said I loved you but I’ll let you go
(Why?) Did you leave me so easily
(Why?) Did I look easy to you?
(Why?) My heart is ripping to shreds
(Why?) If every moment was a dream
(Why?) If only I had the time to set it right
(Why?) I prayed for your happiness
I was always satisfied with having you
I was happy to dream the same dream as you no matter what they said
I had to let you go, but I’m just walking my path anyway
Now I’m just chillin’, Feel like I’m healing
It’s too late, you said you can’t come back
You’ve always believed that I’d crumble without you
That’s a misunderstanding, why would I do that? why, why, I told you I wouldn’t
(Hey) I was really, really sad, because you were so immature
and I was afraid you’d meet someone bad (Why? baby)
(Keep your head down)
You’re really pretty, but that’s all there is to you, there’s nothing important inside of you
(Keep your head down)
A nail is driven into the heart that is holding in the pain of love
Ha~ Don’t play with people like that
In front of me, all you do is speak of lies
You’re such a two-faced person
(Why why why) Since when did our crystal-like feelings become so opaque?
Our love has ended, I’ve let you go, and now my heart is empty
But my future is gesturing towards me to get up and smile
I’m letting you go, live happily (why why why)
One day far from now, far from now, I want to just smile comfortable
(Why?) Why
(Why?) You let go of our love so easily
(Why?) Did you ever think that someone would get worried?
(Why?) I don’t think you know yet
(Why?) Exactly just what you let go of
(Why?) Just remain there and watch me grow
(Keep your head down)
Erased, disappeared, you’ve burned to death in my heart
(Keep your head down)
Erased, disappeared, you’ve died in my heart and you no longer exist
Keep your head down U-Know time (Max)
You know what time it is?
